North Providence starts a few blocks from our Providence base. Fruit Hill, Centredale, Marieville, Lymansville and the streets around the Wenscott Reservoir are all a short drive.
Mid-century houses, mid-century panels
Much of North Providence filled in after the Second World War: Capes, ranches and raised ranches on side streets off Mineral Spring Avenue, Smithfield Road and Douglas Avenue. Many of those homes still have their original panels or ones added decades ago, and the house now asks a lot more of them: central air, a bigger kitchen, a finished basement. That is where panel replacements and service upgrades come in.
Older mill villages
Along the Woonasquatucket River, Centredale, Lymansville and Greystone grew up around mills, and their older homes carry the same issues we find in Providence: original wiring, ungrounded outlets and fuse boxes that are long overdue.
Finished basements and additions
A lot of North Providence homeowners are adding space rather than moving. Basement finishes, kitchens and additions need new circuits, GFCI protection where water is nearby, and a panel with room for all of it. We wire the new space and make sure the panel can carry it.

North Providence questions
Asked in North Providence.
Do you serve North Providence?
Yes. North Providence borders our home base in Providence’s 02908 area, so it’s one of the closest places we work. Call (401) 753-1030 or send the request form.
My North Providence ranch has its original panel. Should I replace it?
If the panel is full, breakers trip often, it feels warm, or it’s a brand with a known history of problems, it’s time for an electrician to look. Many mid-century homes were built with services far smaller than today’s homes use.
Do I need a permit to finish my basement’s wiring?
New wiring in a basement finish needs an electrical permit and inspection through the town’s building office. A licensed electrician pulls it and the work is inspected before the walls close.
